Eyelash Extensions

CHOOSE YOUR EYELASH EXTENSIONS

The sky is the limit! There are countless lengths, diameters and curls to choose from. So whether you are looking for “day to day natural” or “red carpet drama”, your lash artist can customize whatever look you are after. Your lash extension professional will assist you in choosing the right type of lashes that can be supported by the length and strength of your natural lashes. It is your lash artist’s duty to maintain the integrity and health of your natural lashes, above all else. Always be sure to seek out a licensed aesthetician or cosmetologist that has also received advanced education in eyelash extensions.

APPLYING THE EYELASH EXTENSIONS

When you arrive to the studio, you and your lash artist will consult about your desires for your lashes. After, you will lie down on the facial table as your lash artisit adjusts your neck and knees to make sure you are comfortable. You will have soothing gel pads applied over your bottom lashes as a barrier. Depending on the service you selected, you can plan on anywhere from 1 to 2.5 hours and a cost ranging from $150-$250 for lash sets and $65-$95 for touch-ups. A special medical grade type adhesive is used to apply the extensions lash for lash. An extension should only be applied to ONE of your lashes and not multiple natural lashes. There are both clear and black adhesives used, however black is most common. You should always feel comfortable during the procedure. Stinging eyes and/or a pinching sensation is NOT normal. If you experience discomfort, please promptly inform your eyelash artist.

CARING FOR YOUR EYELASH EXTENSIONS

If your eyelash extensions have been properly “cured” then you are free to get your lashes wet right away. You should exercise care while wearing extensions, but you can still wear make up, swim, shower and the like. You need to be very careful to not use and oil based creams, lotions or medications around your eyes. The oil in these products can cause the adhesive to break down prematurely. Avoid touching and do NOT rub your eyes. Mascara of any kind is not recommended over the extensions. If you feel like you need to wear mascara, you ultimately want more drama! I recommend speaking with your lash artist about this at your next appointment. Touch-ups are recommended every 2-4 weeks. This depends on your natural lash cycle and how careful you are with your lashes. Every person is different and lash cycles vary.

WHO IS NOT A CANDIDATE FOR PERMANENT MAKEUP UP (MICROBLADING)?

*IF YOU HAVE EXISTING FADED PERMANENT MAKEUP ON YOUR BROWS, YOU MAY OR MAY NOT BE A CANDIDATE FOR MICROBLADING. PLEASE SEND A CLEAR PICTURE OF YOUR BROWS IN NATURAL LIGHTING TO 480-299-1888 BEFORE BOOKING.

Permanent makeup is NOT recommended for any clients who are or have:

-Pregnant or nursing
-Diabetic
-Undergoing Chemotherapy
-Viral infections and/or diseases
-Epilepsy
-A Pacemaker or major heart problems
-Had an Organ transplant
-Skin irritations or Psoriasis near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc.)
-Sick (cold, flu, etc.)
-Had Botox in the past 2 weeks
-Used Retinoids (such as Retin-A and Accutane) in the past year -Prone to Keloids -Undergoing hormone therapies

OILY SKIN?

Those clients who have extremely oily skin may experience a different result with microblading than those with normal to dry skin. This could equate to more fading of color faster and possibly the strokes will not heal as crisp (may be slightly blurred or dotted). Those with oily skin may need more frequent touch ups at the 6-9 month mark or should consider a different technique such as a “shaded” brow rather than microblading.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

The pigment lasts different amounts of time on different people for a myriad of reasons. In general, after the first 4-6 week touch-up, it could last 12-18 months before fading completely.

DOES IT HURT?

We use topical anesthetic to numb the skin before and during the procedure. Many clients find it relaxing!

IS THERE ANY DOWN TIME?

No. Clients are able to leave the treatment and go directly back to work or to daily tasks/errands. There will be very little redness. The brows are then healing aggressively over the next 10 days while you are using a thin layer of an ointment such as petroleum jelly to keep the brows protected.

BEFORE AND AFTER CARE?

EYEBROW BEFORE CARE

-Do not work out the day of the procedure.
-Do not tan or have sunburned face.
-Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or IBUprofen 24 hours before procedure.
-No alcohol or caffeine on the day of the procedure.
-No waxing or tinting 3 days before.
-Please note that you will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.

EYEBROW AFTERCARE

-NO water, cleansers, creams, makeup or any other products on treated area for 10 days.
-DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring.
-Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 3-4 weeks after procedure.
-Avoid heavy sweating for the first 7-10 days.
-NO facials, botox, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks (nothing that can serve to exfoliate the area).
-Avoid sleeping on your face or digging the side of your face into pillow for the first 10 days.
-Please note: Eyebrows will appear darker and bolder due to natural healing for the first 10 days. This is very common for all permanent cosmetic procedures.

This is the course you have worked hard to be ready for! Here you will learn advanced lash extension skills and will ultimately be introduced to the HOTTEST trend in the lash market ,”Volume Lashes”, brought to us straight from Russia in the summer 2013! Amber spent the entire summer of 2013 studying this new exciting technique that is changing the way eyelash extension will be done forever! Amber studied with Russian pioneers of the volume technique at Lash Boom in Chicago and multiple times with Russian Volume Master Irina Levchuk in AZ and Los Angeles, CA. Amber knows multiple volume techniques and has worked hard to perfect them and bring them directly to you! This course is not recommended for beginner lash artists. Pictures of current work will be required before joining this course.

Choosing to have a lash mentor is your opportunity to have an advanced and skilled lash artist hold your hand as often as YOU need as you work to develop you skills. Your lash mentor already has a thriving business of clients and is certified through Sassy Wink Academy as a talented, educated, safe and helpful teacher. You can work directly with Amber or be connected with a Lash Mentor in your area. Your lash mentor will answer all your questions via personal phone call, Facebook, email or Skype sessions. You may choose to have “shadow” visits with your mentor on a regular or as-needed basis (you shadow your mentor or your mentor shadows you for a day and provides hands on and in person feedback onsite.) Your mentor can help you quickly perfect your techniques so that you and your business can explode with success!
